Start with Matwork. Then specialise.
Matwork builds the core repertoire and teaching skills every Pilates instructor needs, it’s the foundation, and the prerequisite for going further. Once you’ve completed it, branch into Barre, Reformer or Heroboard.

Core Qualification
Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork, Internationally recognised and CIMSPA & REPS UAE Endorsed. This qualification is key to creating the most secure base to build on. Here you will learn the Pilates Method and its applied principles that Pilates Instructors should always come back to, no matter how their educational development evolves.

Progression Route
Everything from Barre, Reformer, Pre & Post Natal, Special Populations and the wider equipment repertoire, once you’re ready to build on your Matwork foundation, we will work with you to do so in the right order, not a pick-and-mix.

FitIQ Mentoring
Scheduled one-to-one check-ins with a real tutor after you qualify, not a helpline or a chat bot, an ongoing relationship with your Tutor and FitIQ Education support team.

Questions, answered honestly
Before you book your call
Do I need to do Matwork before Barre or Reformer?
Yes. Matwork is the foundation of the Pilates Pathway and the entry point for progressing to Reformer. It’s the sequence that gives you a properly built specialism, rather than a certificate with no foundation underneath it. BARRE does not require a Pilates qualification.
Can I start teaching professionally after Matwork alone?
Yes, the Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork is a standalone regulated qualification that lets you teach Matwork classes. Barre and Reformer are progression options once you’re ready to specialise further.
How is Heroboard Pilatesâ„¢ different from the Pilates Pathway?
Heroboard Pilates™ is designed to bring something innovative and progressive to your teaching in the Pilates Studio or other environments. Inspired by Matwork and Reformer Pilates, Heroboard Pilates™ forms part of your Pilates Pathway however sits aside from the traditional Pilates education pathway. It is preferred that you have a Matwork Pilates certificate before undertaking Heroboard Pilates™ training OR experience coaching Physical Activity.
What's included in the price?
Your Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork, FitIQ Education mentoring, studio placement network access, and CV and portfolio preparation are all included in one price, with flexible payment options available.
What is CoverMe and do I get access to it?
CoverMe is the fitness industry’s recruitment app, used by a variety of clubs and studios internationally, to find qualified cover instructors. As a FitIQ graduate you get free access to build your profile, upload your certificates, and pick up shift cover and job alerts once you’re qualified.
