Course Description
The Combined First Aid at Work (FAW) + Paediatric First Aid (PFA) course is a comprehensive blended 3-day programme designed for staff who require full statutory first aid qualifications covering both adults and children.
This course integrates adult workplace first aid for medium- and high-risk environments with pediatric first aid for infants, babies, and children in early years, childcare, leisure, and educational settings.
Participants receive in-depth practical and theoretical training to respond confidently to life-threatening emergencies, injuries, and illnesses across all age groups.
Learners will gain the knowledge, skills, and nationally recognised certification required to meet workplace and childcare first aid compliance standards.

Assessment & Certification
Assessment is integrated throughout the 3-day programme and includes practical, scenario-based, and knowledge-check components covering both adult and paediatric first aid requirements.
Practical Demonstrations Include:

Adult, child, and infant CPR

Management of the unresponsive casualty

Choking (adult, child, infant)

Severe bleeding and shock

Fractures, sprains, and soft tissue injuries

Burns and scalds

Workplace and paediatric medical emergencies
Scenario-Based Assessments:

Simulated workplace first aid incidents

Paediatric emergency scenarios in childcare and education settings
Knowledge Assessment:

Written and/or multiple-choice assessment to confirm underpinning theory
Certification:
Successful learners receive nationally recognised certification covering both First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid requirements.
Certificates are valid for 3 years and meet workplace compliance standards, including Ofsted/EYFS requirements where applicable.
Entry Requirements

Minimum age: 16 years

Physically able to perform CPR and practical first aid skills on adults, children, and infants

Suitable for staff in workplaces caring for adults and children, including:

Offices, retail, and other medium- to high-risk workplaces
