Introduction
The Level 2 Award in Instructing Physical Activity for Children is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to plan, prepare and deliver safe but effective physical activity sessions for children aged 5-11 years and 11-15 years. Learners are also given an understanding of the legal and professional requirements, including safeguarding when leading physical activity sessions for children.
This is a two-day course delivered in person, designed to be interactive and practical, giving you real experience in planning and delivering sessions. The course will run from 09:30 to 17:00 on both days.

A deposit is required before the course starts to secure your enrolment and access to learning materials. All remaining payments must be completed before the course is finished to ensure your qualification can be awarded. Full payment can also be made online at checkout.

Entry requirement
Learners must hold a suitable Level 2 fitness instructing qualification, for example:
- Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing.
- Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Group Training.
- Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing.
- Certificate in Leading Health Related Activity Sessions; coaching qualification or equivalent.
Some experience of working with children is useful.
